Pitching leads the O's past Minnesota

The Orioles had another night with little offense. This time the O's pitching had enough to win. Brad Bergesen pitched shutout ball over 6 2/3 and Alfredo Simon got the save in the ninth as the Orioles beat Minnesota 2-0 Thursday night in game one of a four-game series. Bergesen improved to 2-2, 7.36 as four O's pitchers combined on a six-hitter. It's the O's first shutout of the year and first since beating Texas 7-0 on 9-6-09. Will Ohman struck out Jim Thome with the bases loaded in the 7th and Koji Uehara pitched a scoreless 8th.
Gary and Mike ask Dave Trembley for his thoughts on the O's 2-0 win over the Twins
It's Bergesen's first career road win and he is now 1-5, 4.45 in ten career road starts. The only scoring in the game came on Ty Wigginton's two-run homer in the top of the second that followed a Miguel Tejada single. It was Wigginton's 10th homer already, one fewer that he had in all of 2009. The O's were 0-12 when scoring two runs or less this year until tonight's victory.

Some post-game thoughts after Bergesen and Wiggint...
That's more like it (w/minors added)
