It didn't take the Marlins long to get to Nationals right-hander Max Scherzer.

Center fielder Bryce Harper had a single to right field with two outs in the bottom of the first. He has now hit safely in eight straight games. Ryan Zimmerman struck out to end the first inning.

Update: Ian Desmond took the first pitch off of left-hander Adam Conley in the bottom of the second over the wall in right-center field for his 16th homer and the Nationals tied the game at 1-1.

Update II: Prado smacked a two-run shot in the third and Marcell Ozuna hit a solo homer in the fourth. The Marlins lead 4-1 after four innings. Scherzer has now allowed seven homers in his last 19 innings.

Update III: Wilson Ramos hit his 12th home run on the season in the fifth. After five innings, the Marlins lead 4-2 over the Nationals.

Update IV: The Nationals loaded the bases with no one out in the sixth. Ryan Zimmerman hit a sacrifice fly to center that scored Jayson Werth and the Marlins led, 4-3. Later with two outs and the bases loaded again, Wilson Ramos grounded out 1-4-3 to end the threat. After six, Marlins cling to a one run advantage.

Update V: The Nationals got Desmond to second base in the ninth, but were unable to tie the game. The Marlins defeated the Nationals 4-3.
