Some details on OPACY 30th anniversary celebration, plus game notes

The Orioles revealed plans today for the 30th anniversary celebration of Camden Yards on Aug. 5-6, including the return of former players Chris Davis, Jay Gibbons, Robert Andino, Chris Hoiles, Rick Sutcliffe, Jeff Reboulet and Rodrigo López on the first night.

Other former players have been invited to participate. This is just an early list.

The group will attend a luncheon on the sixth floor of the warehouse and participate in a question-and-answer session. The event begins at noon and includes a silent auction, raffles and door prizes.

Tickets are available by contacting Keiko Baker of the Oriole Advocates at (443) 596-7691 or by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. A limited number of VIP tickets, including a pre-luncheon reception, also are available.

The first 20,000 fans 15-and-over attending the Friday night game against the Pirates will receive a Cedric Mullins 30/30 club bobblehead.

A special pregame ceremony will be held on Saturday honoring the returning Orioles of the last 30 years, including Hall of Famer Eddie Murray. Each returning player will wear a jersey which will be autographed, authenticated and auctioned online at Orioles.com/auction to benefit the Orioles Charitable Foundation.

Seats from the left field wall will be available for auction for the final time this season.

Gates open at 4 p.m. and the ceremony will start at approximately 4:40 p.m.

The Orioles have won back-to-back games after losing four in a row, and they’re sending Austin Voth to the mound tonight while attempting to claim their series against the Rangers.

Voth has gone three innings in his last two starts, reaching 62 pitches Wednesday in Seattle.

Mullins has hit safely in nine of his last 10 starts since June 23, batting .357 (15-for-42) with four doubles, one home run, six RBIs and six runs scored.

The Orioles are 37-44 through 81 games, compared to 27-54 last season. They’ve won five of their last seven home games.

Rangers right-hander Spencer Howard is making his fourth appearance and second start this season. He’s allowed nine runs and 10 hits with 12 strikeouts and six home runs surrendered in 6 2/3 innings.

Howard, the Phillies’ second-round draft pick in 2017, hasn’t pitched for the Rangers since April 29 and hasn’t started since April 10, when the Blue Jays hit four home runs in three innings.

Right-handers are batting .315/.381/.558 against Howard in 28 career games, and left-handers are batting .247/.343/.473.

Howard has made one career start against the Orioles, allowing four runs and six hits in four innings on Sept. 24, 2021 at Camden Yards. Mullins hit his 30th home run, a three-run shot in the second inning.

Marcus Semien has hit three home runs in his last six games.
