Strasburg homers, tosses complete game (Nats win 4-0)

Nationals right-hander Stephen Strasburg has kept the Marlins off the board through three frames. Dee Gordon led off the game with an infield single but was caught stealing at second a few pitches later.

J.T. Realmuto doubled in the second, but Strasburg recorded two more outs to get out of inning. Strasburg has one strikeout.

Michael A. Taylor singled with one out in the second. But Jose Lobaton grounded into a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning.

After three innings, the Nats and Marlins were scoreless.

Update: Strasburg took the offense into his own hands with a solo homer to lead off the fifth. The drive off Conley was on the first pitch and was Strasburg's second homer of the season, third of his career. Difo launched his fifth of the season two batters later. The solo homer came on a 1-1 pitch.

After five innings, the Nats led the Marlins 2-0.

Update II: Strasburg singled to lead off the seventh. Trea Turner walked. Strasburg was doubled up off of second on a liner from Difo. Turner stole second base. Rendon doubled down the right field line to score Turner.

The Nats lead the Marlins 3-0 after seven innings.

Update III: Jayson Werth doubled with one out in the eighth. Alejandro De Aza pinch-ran for Werth. A wild pitch got De Aza to third. A passed ball got him home.

After eight innings, the Nats led the Marlins 4-0.

Strasburg returned to pitch the ninth. His last complete game was Aug. 11, 2013. Christian Yelich singled. Marcell Ozuna struck out swinging. Realmuto grounded out to shortstop. Derek Dietrich grounded out to second base to end the game.

Strasburg's final line in a complete-game shutout: 9 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 1 BB (intentional), 8 K. He threw 110 pitches, 78 strikes.

Final score: Nats 4, Marlins 0.
