Sunday baseball: O's at Jays

Game Preview Orioles (46-64) at Toronto (52-57) The Orioles inconsistent offense was in down mode on Saturday in a 3-2, 10-inning loss vs. Toronto. The O's left 10 men on base and went 3 for 14 with runners in scoring position. The Orioles scored 13 runs in the first two games of their series at Detroit, then plated just five runs in the series final two games. They scored seven in Friday's win at Toronto and just two in yesterday's loss. Today they'll play the third and deciding game at Rogers Centre vs. the Blue Jays at 1:07 p.m. Lefty Brian Matusz (1-0, 1.80) will make his second Major League start vs. Roy Halladay (11-5, 2.75), who will pitch for Toronto. He gave up four hits and two runs over 6 2/3 innings. The O's are 2-4 on this two-city road trip that ends this afternoon. The O's have lost nine of their past 12 road games and are 18-38 on the road on the year. Baltimore is 15-28 vs. AL East opponents, but just 3-17 when playing in the division on the road. The Birds are now 6-16 since the All-Star game. Toronto is 1-3 on a five-game homestand that ends today. The Blue Jays are 30-26 at Rogers Centre on the season, but have lost 12 of their last 18 at home. The Jays are 3-9 over their last 12 games vs. AL East foes and are 13-25 in division games on the season. The Orioles are 6-5 this season vs. Toronto, including a 1-4 mark on the road.
