The offensive barrage (updated)

The O's scored five runs on seven hits in the last of the third to take a 5-3 lead on Florida. This time the Marlins have blown the early lead. The five runs is one off their biggest inning of the year and seven hits is the most in any inning this year. Their previous best was six hits in one frame. The inning saw Miguel Tejada drive in a run with an RBI single. He began tonight with just one RBI over his last 23 games and 99 at bats. The streak reached 100 when he flied out in the top of the first. Six straight O's reached vs. Nate Robertson to start the frame and five different players each had an RBI during the uprising. The inning began with a Craig Tatum double and then a bunt single when Cesar Izturis bunted the ball in the air over the mound and in front of the infielders. The O's only inning more productive than that one all year was the six-run bottom of the fifth vs. Boston on May 1st. So Kevin Millwood now works with a 5-3 lead in the fifth. Update: The Marlins get one back on Uggla's RBI single in the fifth and trail 5-4. Millwood struck out 20-year-old phenom Mike Stanton to end a threat with two men on just a pitch or two after Stanton hit a very long foul ball in a bid for a three-run jack. Millwood has thrown 116 pitches through five.
