Willingham's walk off

Does it seem like the Orioles don't have much luck sometimes? Alfredo Simon retired all four batters he faced in Washington today. He got a ground out to start the last of the tenth, but while running to cover first base on that grounder, seemed to strain a hamstring and had to leave the game. Cla Meredith came on and faced Josh Willingham. The count reached 2-1 and then Meredith left a pitch up in the zone and Willingham hit it out to left center for a game-winning homer as the Nats pulled it out, 4-3, in the tenth. It was Willingham's second homer of the series and 8th of the year.
Dave Trembley talks about the O's 4-3 10-inning loss to the Nationals
The Orioles had just scored two runs in the top of the ninth off Matt Capps to tie the game, 3-3 as Capps suffered his first blown save after going 16 for 16. Roger Bernadina's three-run triple in the first gave Washington a 3-1 lead before the O's ninth when Matt Wieters plated a run with a ground out and Julio Lugo's bloop single to right with two outs tied the game. The Orioles now have to determine the severity of the injury to Simon, who was six for seven in save chances. The Orioles are off tomorrow after concluding a 1-4 road trip with their seventh loss in nine games to fall to 14-31. The Nats, who won the final two games of this series, improve to 23-22.
