The Orioles were expecting to face Yu Darvish in the final game of their series against the Rangers. Instead, they get one of their former minor leaguers, Ross Wolf, after Darvish was placed on the disabled list.
Only three current Orioles have faced Wolf. Chris Davis is 1-for-2 with a strikeout, Taylor Teagarden is 0-for-2 with a strikeout and Ryan Flaherty is 0-for-1.
The Orioles haven't made a roster move today, but Chris Dickerson remains out of the lineup with a strained left shoulder....
PHILADELPHIA - The Nationals have struggled mightily against left-handed pitching this season, and they'll face one of the toughest left-handers in the bigs tonight when they take on Cliff Lee.
Lee is 10-2 with a 2.73 ERA this season, and he held the Nats to two runs over eight strong innings back on June 18 in a Phillies win here at Citizens Bank Park.
The Nats are hitting .215/.281/.336 against left-handers this season. What's there to that?
"I don't know," Adam LaRoche said last...
PHILADELPHIA - Not only is Scott Hairston making his Nationals debut tonight in just his second day with the team since coming over in a trade with the Cubs, he's also in the leadoff spot.
I did expect to see Hairston in the lineup tonight. I did not expect him to lead off. Anyone that says they did is probably lying.
Hairston will play left field tonight, bumping Bryce Harper over to center. Denard Span will get the night off.
This is the first start for Harper in center field this...
Left-hander Zach Britton will be on the mound as the Orioles attempt to even their four-game series against the Texas Rangers at a game apiece.
It could be Britton's last start with the Orioles for a while. With left-hander Wei-Yin Chen due back to start Wednesday's game, a roster move will need to be made to accommodate Chen, and Britton could be on the bubble.
Here are tonight's lineups:

Manny Machado 3B

Chris Davis 1B

Right-hander Scott Feldman takes the mound for the Orioles tonight in the opener of a four-game series against his old team, the Texas Rangers. Left-hander Derek Holland will oppose him.
Brian Roberts is back in the lineup as the Orioles designated hitter tonight. His travels around the batting order take him to the eight-hole. He's previously batted fifth, sixth and ninth since returning from the disabled list.
Alexi Casilla is hitting ninth at second base.
For the Rangers
Ian Kinsler...
Adam LaRoche took a seat on the infield dirt after making a diving stop to end yesterday's game in dramatic fashion.
Today, LaRoche will take a seat on the Nationals bench.
With the Nats facing Padres left-hander Robbie Erlin (1-1, 4,34 ERA), manager Davey Johnson has opted to rest LaRoche and put another right-handed bat in the lineup. Tyler Moore will get the start at first base today.
Jayson Werth will bump up a spot in the order and hit fifth, Anthony Rendon will hit sixth and Moore...
After yesterday's game, Davey Johnson said he planned to give Bryce Harper, mired in an 0-for-18 slump, the weekend off.
So much for that.
Harper has talked his way back into the Nationals' lineup today against the Padres.
Kurt Suzuki will get the start behind the plate after Wilson Ramos had caught the last two days.
The Nats will face old buddy Jason Marquis today. Jordan Zimmermann will go for the Nats.

Aside from pitcher Gio Gonzalez, Nationals manager Davey Johnson will trot out the same lineup for tonight's opener of a three-game series against the Padres as he used yesterday in the finale against the Brewers. I guess when you score eight runs, you don't want to mess up a good thing.
Gonzalez will be opposed by right-hander Andrew Cashner.
Here are tonight's lineups:
For the Padres
SS Everth Cabrera
CF Chris Denorfia
LF Carlos Quentin

Left-hander Ross Detwiler makes his first start tonight since feeling stiffness in his lower back following Friday night's effort at Citi Field in New York. Detwiler is 2-6 with a 4.13 ERA in 12 starts this season.
His opposition is Brewers righty Kyle Lohse.
He'll be backed up in his start against Milwaukee by what is becoming a familiar batting order, now that some of the bumps and bruises the Nationals have been dealing with have healed.
For the Brewers
RF Norichika Aoki
SS Jean...
NEW YORK - The stiffness that Ross Detwiler felt in the left side of his lower back following his start Friday is all but gone, manager Davey Johnson said today.
Johnson reported that Detwiler felt much better today than he did yesterday, and the left-hander thinks he'll be able to make his scheduled start Wednesday against the Brewers.
Detwiler played catch in the outfield at Citi Field just a few minutes ago and seemed to be throwing at full force. He'll throw a side session tomorrow, and...
NEW YORK - Another day, another injury issue for the Nationals.
Ross Detwiler is dealing with a stiff lower back, manager Davey Johnson said this morning, an injury that could cause the left-hander to miss his next start in the Nats' rotation.
Detwiler went five innings in last night's 6-4 win over the Mets, throwing 98 pitches in that time. He had landed on the DL with a right oblique/back issue in mid-May, and needed to miss nearly a month because of that ailment, but this issue is on the...
NEW YORK - Greetings from Citi Field on a slightly muggy but otherwise nice day. Looks like we'll avoid the storm clouds that apparently are hovering around those of you back in the mid-Atlantic region.
There was a point where I wasn't sure whether I'd make it here at all. The cab driver I had take me to my hotel was quite possibly the worst driver I've ever seen. I'm not 100 percent sure he'd ever driven a car prior to today. Luckily, I'm here safe and sound.
Tonight the Nationals...
Davey Johnson is running out pretty much the same lineup today that he used in yesterday's 3-2 Nationals win over the Diamondbacks.
Tyler Moore will get the start again in left field, this time against Arizona left-hander Patrick Corbin. The only change to yesterday's lineup is that Jhonatan Solano will be behind the plate, catching right-hander Stephen Strasburg.
This should be a heck of a pitching matchup today, pitting two 2009 draft picks against one another.
Strasburg (No. 1 overall...
Jayson Werth is back in the Nationals lineup today after being scratched from yesterday's lineup due to what manager Davey Johnson called flu-like symptoms.
Two other Nats regulars will not start today's series finale against the Rockies.
Adam LaRoche and Denard Span - two left-handed hitters - are both sitting today against Rockies left-hander Jorge De La Rossa.
Johnson also had LaRoche and Span out of the lineup against Phillies left-hander John Lannan earlier this week. Johnson has...
The Nationals will go with the same lineup in today's series opener against the Rockies that they ran out last night against the Phillies.
With Roger Bernadina still dealing with some type of issue with his left eye, Steve Lombardozzi will play left field again tonight. Bernadina was scratched from last night's game due to the eye, which Bernadina said was bothering him when he woke up yesterday morning.
Johnson had hoped to have Bernadina in the lineup today because he's hitting .353 with...
PHILADELPHIA - It absolutely poured here in Philly a couple of hours ago, and as I was trying to get off an exit ramp near Citizens Bank Park, I had to drive my Mazda3 through a two-foot-high puddle that felt more like a river.
I made it through just fine, and avoided having to roll down the window and swim to the ballpark. I guess the positive side is that my car won't need to be washed for a little while.
The rain has eased up a bit from where it was at around 1:30 p.m., but it's still...
PHILADELPHIA - Both Denard Span and Adam LaRoche are out of the Nationals lineup for tonight's series opener against the Phillies.
Span fouled yet another ball off his right foot yesterday (something he's done quite a bit over the last couple of months) and will get today off. So will LaRoche, who is mired in an 0-for-15 slump, with six strikeouts in his last four games.
With Phillies left-hander John Lannan getting the ball tonight, Nats manager Davey Johnson is sitting two left-handed...
It's a Father's Day special at Progressive Field, as the Nationals seek their third straight series win. Last night, the Nationals come back to beat the Indians 7-6 on the first major league home run by Anthony Rendon.
Sunday is special in many ways, but for the Nationals, the top return of Stephen Strasburg (3-5, 2.54 ERA) is at the top of the list. Xavier Cedeno was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse to make room on the 25-man roster.
The Indians counter with Corey Kluber (4-4, 4.08 ERA)

It's raining cats, dogs and other assorted house pets here at Camden Yards. If tonight's game is postponed, the teams likely will play a doubleheader on Tuesday.
Stay tuned for updates.

After sitting out the first half of today's doubleheader with a sore ankle, Denard Span returns to the Nationals' lineup for the nightcap.
Span will be back in center field and atop the batting order as the Nats look to sweep the doubleheader and take 2-of-3 from the Twins, Span's former team.
Also in the Nats' lineup for Game 2 of the doubleheader are Roger Bernadina, who will play left field and hit second, and Jhonatan Solano, who will be behind the plate and hit eighth.
