Orioles and Athletics lineups to finish series

OAKLAND – Anthony Santander is out of the lineup again this afternoon, as the Orioles conclude their 10-day road trip and attempt to sweep the Athletics.

Santander is day-to-day with back soreness.

Ryan McKenna is in right field and Gunnar Henderson is the designated hitter. Austin Hays is in left field and batting cleanup.

Jordan Westburg moves down from fourth to seventh. He’s starting at second base, with Ramón Urías at third and Jorge Mateo handling shortstop.

Ryan Mountcastle extended his on-base streak to 25 games last night. Jonathan Schoop is the last Oriole with a 26-game streak in 2017.

Kyle Bradish has registered a 3.18 ERA and 1.134 WHIP in 22 starts. He’s surrendered five runs this month in 17 2/3 innings and struck out 19.

Bradish has never faced the Athletics.

All four of Bradish’s pitches have gained velocity since the break, per STATS.

The Orioles lead the Rays by 2 ½ games. The team is off Monday.

Left-hander JP Sears is 2-9 with a 4.27 ERA and 1.156 WHIP in 24 starts. He’s hit 14 batters to lead the majors.

Sears started April 10 in Baltimore and allowed three runs and three hits in five innings. Mountcastle and Adley Rutschman homered.

Left-handed hitters are batting .308/.379/.517 against Sears, and right-handers are batting .222/.284/.435.

Opponents are batting .300 against Sears’ changeup this season after posting a .200 average in 2022.

Oakland has posted a .216 average with runners in scoring position that ranks last in the majors.
